Supplier: Merck
Description: Dehydrated media are used for a wide variety of applications. To minimise the risks associated with powdered culture media, the majority of Merck's dehydrated culture media is produced in granular form. Merck uses ingredients of non animal origin to minimise the potential risk of transmissible spongiform encephalitis (TSE). When there is no alternative, only ingredients which are recommended by EDQM, and belonging to TSE category B or C are used. This ensures that the product is of the highest quality and in compliance with the standards for food control, microbiological testing on finished products and starting materials, and quality control in the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries. Custom-made media can be prepared to meet individual customer specifications. The formulation is kept confidential via a Non Disclosure Agreement. Please enquire for further details. Supplier: Thermo Scientific
Description: Thermo Scientific Pierce coomassie brilliant blue dyes are composed of one of the most common forms of coomassie dye, which is a key component of various colorimetric protein gel stains. Coomassie R-250 and G-250 dyes are two chemical forms of a disulphonated triphenylmethane compound that is commonly used as the basis of stains for detection of proteins in gel electrophoresis and bradford-type assay reagents for protein quantitation. The R-250 (red-tinted) form lacks two methyl groups that are present in the G-250 (green-tinted) form, which is also called colloidal coomassie dye.

Supplier: Alfa Aesar
Description: Sulpho-NHS (N-Hydroxysulphosuccinimide sodium salt) 97%

Catalog Number: (BC97)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Sulpho-NHS reacts primarily with primary amines to convert carboxyl groups to amine reactive sulfo-NHS esters. It is ideal for cross-linking, chemical labelling and solid support immobilisation. It is used to generate amine reactive esters from carboxylate groups and is primarily used to increase the efficiency of the carbodiimide EDC cross-linking. EDC reactions do not require Sulpho-NHS; however, its presence greatly enhances cross-linking efficiency and allows for a two-step process. EDC reacts with a carboxylate group to form an active ester, which is subject to rapid hydrolysis in aqueous buffers. The Sulfo-NHS increases the stability of the active intermediate and the resulting coupled product is identical to EDC reactions without sulpho-NHS.
