Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-13074R-CY7)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: eNOS is a calcium/calmodulin dependent enzyme which undergoes several post translational modifications, including acylation with myristate and palmitate, and phosphorylation on numerous residues. As with the other members of the NOS family, eNOS derives the diffusible multifunctional second messenger NO from L arginine through a series of reactions in which L citrulline is an intermediate. eNOS plays an important role in controlling vascular tone, platelet aggregation, and cardiac myocyte function.

Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-5054R-A350)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and hydroxylates medium-chain fatty acids such as laurate and myristate. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Description: PPT2 (palmitoyl-protein thioesterase 2), also known as G14, is a 302 amino acid glycosylated protein that localizes to the lysosome and belongs to the palmitoyl-protein thioesterase family. Expressed throughout the body with highest levels in skeletal muscle, PPT2 functions to remove thioester-linked fatty acyl groups from a variety of substrates, including S-palmitoyl-CoA, thereby playing an important role in lipid metabolism. PPT2 operates at an optimal pH of 7 and exhibits the highest activity for the acyl groups on myristic and palmitic acids, with lower levels of activity toward other short- and long-chain acyl substrates. PPT2 exists as two isoforms, one of which is expressed at low levels and is catalytically inactive.
