Description: HYCON® Contact Slides for microbial monitoring of flat and curved surfaces are designed as standardised agar media in a flexible foil. Their unique design makes them universal tools for easy microbial monitoring of flat and curved surfaces. The choice of formulations includes total count media as well as selective media for yeasts and moulds, and for coliform organisms. Each contact slide is welded shrink-wrapped into a resealable sleeve to enable individual strips to be safely sterilised a number of times by peroxide gassing.

Agar Strips, HYCON® for RCS air sampler

Description: A wide range of HYCON® Agar Strips are available specifically for RCS® Microbial Air Samplers. There are several total count media, selective media for yeasts and moulds, coliform organisms and staphylococci. Gamma-irradiated products in sterile double packaging are also available. Using standardised media which are manufactured in controlled cleanroom environments allows for the complete validation of the RCS® Systems according to ISO 14698-1/2. Each individual agar strip is welded into a re-sealable sleeve and 100% visually controlled, ensuring maximum safety in critical environments. HYCON® Agar Strips are used for monitoring of ambient air and compressed gases with the RCS® High Flow Touch Microbial Air Sampler and the RCS® Isolator. They are also applied with the RCS® Plus Ex Microbial Air Sampler for monitoring of explosion hazard areas.

To minimise the risks associated with powdered culture media, the majority of Merck's dehydrated culture media is produced in granular form. Merck uses ingredients of non animal origin to minimise the potential risk of transmissible spongiform encephalitis (TSE). When there is no alternative, only ingredients which are recommended by EDQM, and belonging to TSE category B or C are used. This ensures that the product is of the highest quality and in compliance with the standards for food control, microbiological testing on finished products and starting materials, and quality control in the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries.
