Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Acetoacetyl-CoA is a precursor of poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate polymers in microorganisms. It plays an important role in the biosynthesis of nonactin.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: 5-Aminosalicylic acid is a peroxidase substrate suitable for use in ELISA procedures. This substrate produces a soluble end product that is brown in color and can be read spectrophotometrically at 450 nm. The reaction may be stopped with 3 N NaOH and read at 550 nm .

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Soluble in water (100 mg/ml), yielding a clear, colorless solution.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Glyceryl Monooleate is a surfactant that releases free glycerol and oleic acid upon hydrolysis.

Catalog Number: (ICNA0210296225)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Soluble in chloroform 50 mg/ml - clear, colourless liquid.
UOM: 1 * 25 g

Description: Storage: +4°C, protect from light
3- (4,5-Dimethyl-2-thiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide is used as a colorimetric metabolic activity indicator in cell viability assays. Thiazolyl Blue Tetrazolium Blue (MTT) is a dye used in measurement of cell proliferation. MTT produces a yellowish solution that is converted to dark blue, water-insoluble MTT formazan by mitochondrial dehydrogenases of living cells. The blue crystals are solubilized with acidified isopropanol and the intensity is measured colorimetrically at 570 nm. MTT has been used as a histochemical/cytochemical reagent and for the detection of NAD. ADP-linked enzyme systems in tissue cannot be detected with MTT, due to binding of the cation by the cyanide trap used. MTT is rapidly reduced to the formazan, which chelates with nickel, copper, and cobalt; the cobalt chelate has been used in oxidative systems.
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Lysing Matrix Z is used primarily for lysis of animal and plant tissue, tougher stems, roots and seeds, and whole insects. Each impact-resistant tube contains yttria-stabilised zirconium oxide beads.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Ceramic sphere is a Zirconium oxide coated grinding matrix which is chemically inert and will not bind nucleic acids. These are components of lysing matrices.
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: D-Gulonic acid-γ-lactone, powder

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: D-(+)-Trehalose dihydrate is a natural alpha-linked non –reducing disaccharide formed by an α,α-1,1-glucoside bond between two α-glucose units which yields 2 moles of D-glucose upon acid hydrolysis. Has 90% of the calorific content of sucrose.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Triolein is a symmetrical triglyceride.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Ampicillin sodium salt is a semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin, active as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is inactivated by beta-lactamases and for this reason a beta-lactamase inhibitor should be considered when using ampicillin. Against gram-positive bacteria, ampicillin has a similar mode of action as benzylpenicillin; against gram-negative bacteria, it has a similar mode of action as chloramphenicol and tetracyclines. In E. coli it inhibits cell wall synthesis.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Poly-L-lysine is a positively charged amino acid polymer. Poly-lysine binds to DNA, red cell membrane and any negatively charged protein. It is typically used as a coating substrate for culture dishes, slides, etc. It enhances electrostatic interaction between negatively charged ions of the cell membrane and the culture surface. When adsorbed to the culture surface, poly-lysine increases the number of positively charged sites available for cell binding.

Catalog Number: (ICNA08790162)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Agglutinin is isolated from wheat germ and purified by affinity chromatography.
UOM: 1 * 5 mg

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Sulforhodamine B can be used as a protein tag - by sulfamido condensation with a proteinaceous substrate containing a primary amine function. Sulforhodamine B will fluoresce red. Because of its red fluorescence it can be used in conjuction with fluorescein isothiocyanate (which fluoresces yellowish-green).

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Taurine is a sulphonated amino acid that occurs abundantly in vivo, and is found in oxen lung, shark blood, mussels and oysters. It is produced through the metabolism of cysteine via the formation of the intermediates cysteinesulphinate and hypotaurine.
