Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-0101R-A680)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Glycolytic enzyme that catalyses the transfer of a phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP, generating ATP. Stimulates POU5F1-mediated transcriptional activation. Plays a general role in caspase independent cell death of tumor cells. The ratio betwween the highly active tetrameric form and nearly inactive dimeric form determines whether glucose carbons are channeled to biosynthetic processes or used for glycolytic ATP production. The transition between the 2 forms contributes to the control of glycolysis and is important for tumor cell proliferation and survival.

Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-8498R-CY7)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: REG1 beta is a type I subclass member of the Reg gene family. The Reg gene family is a multigene family grouped into four subclasses, types I, II, III and IV based on the primary structures of the encoded proteins. REG1 beta highly similar to the REG1 alpha protein. The related REG1 alpha protein is associated with islet cell regeneration and diabetogenesis, and may be involved in pancreatic lithogenesis. Reg family members REG1 alpha, REGL, PAP and this gene are tandomly clustered on chromosome 2p12 and may have arisen from the same ancestral gene by gene duplication.

Description: Methylation at the 5'-position of cytosine is the only known naturally occurring covalent modification of the mammalian genome. DNA methylation requires the enzymatic activity of DNA 5-cytosine methyltransferase (Dnmt) proteins, which catalyze the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosyl methionine to the 5'-position of cytosines, thereby repressing expression of the target gene. Dnmt3L (DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3-like) is a 387 amino acid protein that contains one ADD-type zinc finger and is a member of the Dnmt family. Localized to the nucleus and expressed at lows levels in thymus, testis and ovary, Dnmt3L does not exhibit DNA methyltransferase activity, but is able to stimulate de novo methylation by Dnmt3 and is thought to play a key role in the establishment of genomic imprints. Additionally, Dnmt3L interacts with histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1) and, through this interaction, mediates transcriptional repression. Multiple isoforms of Dnmt3L exist due to alternative splicing events.

Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-11571R-A750)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: The leucine-rich (LRR) repeat is a 20 to 30 amino acid motif that forms a hydrophobic Alpha/Beta horseshoe fold, allowing it to accommodate several leucine residues within a tightly packed core. All LRR repeats contain a variable segment and a highly conserved segment, the latter of which accounts for 11 or 12 residues of the entire LRR motif. The LRRTM protein family plays a role in the regulation of various cellular events during nervous system development. Localizing predominantly to the nervous system, LRRTM family members are known to exhibit synaptogenic activity. LRRTM3 (leucine rich repeat transmembrane neuronal 3) is a 581 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the LRRTM family. LRRTM3 is involved in the development and maintenance of the vertebrate nervous system, and contains ten LRR repeats. Expressed in neuronal tissues, LRRTM3 is encoded by a gene that maps to a region of chromosome 10 that has been linked to late-onset Alzheimer disease and elevated plasma Beta-Amyloid. As a result of alternative splicing events, two LRRTM3 isoforms exist.

Description: Cyclin dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) is a key regulator of cell cycle progression in neuronal differentiation that physically associates with and is activated by the neuron-specific protein p35. CDK5RAP1 (CDK5 regulatory subunit-associated protein 1) specifically inhibits Cdk5 activation by p35 through formation of a dimer that inhibits kinase activity. CDK5RAP2, also known as Centrosome-associated protein 215, is a 1893 amino acid centrosomal protein that regulates activity of CDK5 through complex formation with CDK5RAP1. Expressed in placenta, liver, pancreas, heart, skeletal muscle, lung, brain and kidney, CDK5RAP2 associates with centrosomes throughout the cell cycle. Mutations in the gene encoding CDK5RAP2 results in primary microencephaly autosomal recessive type 3, which is characterized by markedly reduced head size, brain weight and significant neurological deficits. There are four isoforms of CDK5RAP2 that are produced as a result of alternative splicing events.
